Overview
In astrology, there is more to learn than solely about the signs and planets. Another key component to an individual’s natal astrology chart is about the astrological houses. The houses reveal where we may have certain experiences or when we can expect something to take place. In this post, however, we’re going to dive specifically into the fifth house of fun and children!
The Fifth House
Unlike signs and planets, houses regard events and circumstances in which we tend to have certain types of experiences. The types of experiences we may have depends on the house and its associations. Any astrological connections to the fifth house indicate things which are mainly surrounding fun and children.
More specifically, the fifth house represents excitement, creative activities, and youth. It indicates late nights, parties, and playfulness. This is the house of silliness, lack of responsibilities, and letting our hair down.
Leo House
The Third House is also known as the Leo House. Essentially, all this means is that the characteristics commonly associated to the zodiac sign, Leo, can also be attributed to the house. However, this is through our experiences rather than within our personality.
For example, Leo is sometimes known for being bright, confident, and dramatic. The 5th house possesses similar creative energy and may tell us where we find enjoyment. Since Leo is ruled by the sum, the fifth house may also reveal where we shine and feel comfortable unleashing our carefree side.
5th House Location
In this image is the astrological wheel. Within it, you’ll find the twelve zodiac signs, the ten planets, the points, and the twelve houses. On the lower, right side of the wheel, above Leo and the number 5 is where you’ll find the fifth house.
Naturally, Leo rules the fifth house. However, for many of us, we have a different sign ruling our personal fifth house. We may also have or may not have planets in the house that also influence this placement. Likewise, any aspects to the fifth house may also impact it.
Everything, from the line separating Cancer and Leo to the opposite line that divides Leo and Virgo is within the fifth house. Therefore, the symbol for the sun, (⨀), resides in this house for the current example. So, whenever you’re looking at your personal astrology chart, this is how you determine what’s in your fifth house.

Planets in the Fifth House
Having many planets in your fifth house, often means you probably express quite a bit of Leo energy. No matter your sign, you are still heavily influenced by fifth house energy. This means you are likely quite entertaining, highly creative, and children usually like you considering you can level with them easily.
Conversely, the 5th house may represent our actual children. Similarly, many of the qualities of this house reflect our inner child. These are things like hobbies, interests, games, how spare time is spent, youthfulness, short-term love affairs, innocence, pride, and self-expression.
If you do not have any planets in your fifth house, it doesn’t mean you won’t have children. Instead, you can refer to the sign that rules your house to see what it means for you personally. Likewise, check the aspects to this house for more info.
